Global Markets

Net sales in global markets for FY 2022 increased by 25,862 million yen. Net sales in the industrial materials business increased by 23,714 million, combining the sales increase in LVL in the American housing market and MDF mainly in the Asian market, combined with the effect of the weak yen. In the building materials business, net sales increased by 784 million yen from the recovery of orders in the door business operated in Indonesia. In other segments, net sales increased by 1,365 million yen from the increased inquiries for the procurement and sales of various industrial materials, which we handle for the purpose of developing sales channels.

Public and Commercial Buildings

Net sales of public and commercial buildings in FY 2022 decreased by 1,223 million yen. In the industrial materials business, net sales increased by 166 million yen because of the sales increase in noncombustible products using Dai-Lite as a base material, though the demand decrease continued in tatami mats for commercial establishments and accommodation facilities. In the building materials business, net sales decreased by 126 million yen because of the sales decrease resulting from the delayed delivery and restricted order receipts for doors and floor materials in the fourth-quarter consolidated accounting period. In the engineering business, net sales decreased by 1,358 million yen because of the decreased demand for interior work for office buildings in the metropolitan area because it was the year of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Home Renovation Market

Net sales in the home renovation market for FY 2022 increased by 1,267 million yen. In the industrial materials business, net sales increased by 412 million yen from the recovery of tatami mat renewal work. In the building materials business, net sales decreased by 246 million yen because of the sales decrease resulting from the delayed delivery and restricted order receipts for doors and floor materials in the consolidated fourth quarter. In the engineering business, net sales increased by 1,186 million yen because of the steady renovation of apartments operated in the metropolitan area.
