Industrial Materials

making the best use of limited resources to create new construction materials.

Right after the end of World War II, we started development of plywood materials which require high-level technology to produce, and started on the path to becoming the technical DAIKEN company of today. Since then, we have maintained our company philosophy of effectively using resources, and developed numerous modern materials ahead of their time.

Major Industrial Materials developed

  • 1946

Developing proprietary composite materials with excellent durability and water resistance.

Although we had no experience with trains, when we participated in bidding for passenger car veneers, our company was chosen based on the quality of our products. The photo shows a Shonan train with ceilings and partitioning walls made of plywood.

  • 1959

Wood fiber boards that make efficient use of lumber materials developed.

The main Industrial Materials of making wood fiber boards (insulation boards) is wood chips and recycle scrap wood. We know how best to spend the limited resources.

  • 1964

    Inflammable 『DAILOTONE』 ceiling panels launched.

In times when fire were a problem, these mineral matter fiber boards 『DAILOTONE』 were created to provide a fire resistant solution for homes and buildings with the peace of mind of natural materials. This was the first step toward developing high-functionality fire resistant building materials.

  • 1997

    Advanced earthquake-resistant 『DAILITE』 materials developed.

After the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, we revised our ideas about earthquake-resistance and developed a ground-breaking new material that provided resistance vibrations in a panel format. This product is 『DAILITE』, a volcanic glass composite board material.
